About Rio Colorado Equine Veterinary Service

At Rio Colorado Equine, we believe in prevention and early identification of health problems, as well as the alleviation and improvement of existing problems. You want your horse happy and in top form. A seasoned professional, by regular physical examinations, can help reveal potential issues which may not be as  easily seen on your daily observations.

Dr. Sandigo stays abreast of disease trends, the latest treaments available, the newest pain management, and observes the horse community as a whole. Early medical  intervention when your horse is sick or injured helps recovery time, and may help avoid further complications. Your chosen veterinarian is an important part of your horses' overall care plan, please don't hesitate to call when you need professional help.

I am a Certified Veterinary Technician with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. I spent 10 years as a veterinary technician in the US Army Veterinary Command and settled in Yuma at YPG in 1992. I held the position of Manager of the Humane Society of Yuma's first Spay/Neuter program from 2003-2007. Dr. Sandigo invited me to help him provide a service designed specifically to meet the needs of Yuma's horses (and owners of course!). I designed and maintain our website, administer Get Supplies and the Facebook pages Rio Colorado Equine and Yuma Horse Welfare. --Joan Duquette | Create Your Badge
